Help the Free Spay/Neuter Clinics

kennel
We need kennels.

The Manzanillo community operates a mobile spay/neuter clinic. It's offered for free and targets low-income pet owners. We've been to barrios all over the city, from Campos on the south side, to El Naranjo up north, and many sites in-between. An all-volunteer force of local vets, interns, vet students and lay-persons provide the manpower, but all other support it through donations.

Check out the WISH LIST on the PATA site for items required, or donate directly through that site.

All kinds of supplies are needed. For my part, I'm gathering donated surgical instruments and kennels.

Here's a list of instruments, and examples of kennels for your donating pleasure.

Manzanillo's 2nd Division pro team is back in town, so there will be two home games, every other weekend, all winter long. Saturday and Sunday games start at 3:00 PM. Stan updates results and info on his Picudo's page.

The Ruta 2 bus, after a little walkabout to Marymar, will pass by the new, multi-colored hospital on the boulevard in Valle. From the La Boquita anchorage, catch the bus at El Indio restaurant. From Las Hadas, catch it at the crucero. Hop off the bus just past the hospital and walk three blocks up a cobble road, you'll find the stadium tucked behind bouganvilla-covered walls.

Second division charges $30 pesos entrance fee, 3rd Division is $20. The stands are shaded, and there're cold beers and hot tacos.
