Donations Needed for Free Spay/Neuter Clinics

Support free spay/neuter clinics in Manzanillo. Lots of stuff needed for the mobile clinic. My particular priorities: kennels/cages and surgical instruments (listed farther down this page).

Kennels/Las Jaulas

Any donations are thankfully accepted. However, if given a choice, our ideal clinic cage would be....

• Large enough to hold our largest patient, or a family of patients (or adoptables);
• Strong enough to contain a large street dog who has never before been contained (we've broken two, already!);
• Have a sturdy top and bottom so animals can't escape;
• Have large doors to facilitate treatment, ingress and egress;
• Be collapsible or foldable for easy transportation to clinic sites; and
• Be of a material that's easily cleaned and sanitized, metal, plastic or finished wood.

Craig's List is a wonderful source for north-of-border charity shoppers.

If flying to Manzanillo with your donations, be aware of your airline's shipping restrictions and overage charges.

Last year, ARA and one of our generous supporters donated a whole stack of cardboard carriers. She was able to procure them from her home vet at a good price, and then loaded them into her car and drove them to Manzanillo.

What a great donation! The whole stack was used and reused until the remaining few disintegrated. Many were sent home with very appreciative owners (if anyone has transported a cat wrapped in a towel, you'll understand...).

You can see from the inventory numbers that we're in desperate need of instruments. If we happen to have four vets working, the instrument crew scrambles to keep up with demand for clean tools * Starred * items are critical needs.
